200 Ramps Built !!

On May 7th, the RAMPS Plus Program, a program of Pro Action of Steuben & Yates, Inc, built it's 200th ramp. Just as significant, the program marks it's 10th Anniversary of serving those in need. The RAMP Plus Program is a volunteer project which includes church, civic/fraternal organizations and individuals who volunteer their time and resources to construct wheelchair ramps for area residents who are temporarily or permanently wheelchair bound and whose income is at 200% poverty level. Over the past ten years, Corning Building Company has partnered with the program and provided discounts on more than $50,000 worth of lumber and supplies. When the ramps are no longer needed, they are unassembled and the materials are used to build new ramps. Camp Scholarship Opportunities

The Steuben Rural Health Network (SRHN) announces MASH Camp and Camp MedQuest Scholarship opportunities. MASH Camp
(Medical Academy of Science and Health)
For Students in Grades 7th - 9th
July 22nd and 23rd
Canisteo Valley Youth Center, Canisteo, NY
8:45 am - 4:00 pm

At camp, students will:

• Learn about a variety of health care professions
• Learn hands on activities to perform a rescue
• Recieve CPR and/or First Aid Training
• Talk to health professionals about their field
• Have the opportunity to tour St. James Mercy Hospital to see how health disciplines interact with others to give patients the best possible care
• Lunch and snacks will be provided both days

Camp MedQuest
For Students in Grades 9th - 12th
July 16th and 17th
Ira Davenport Hospital, Bath, NY
9:00 am - 4:00 pm

Students attending this camp will be introduced to the many areas of healthcare as well as learn more about the skills that are required to become a health professional. Students will participate in hands-on activities and have the opportunity to "shadow" a variety of healthcare professionals. Lunch and snacks will be provided both days.
