NYS Grange Hall; 100 Grange Place; Cortland. Succession Planning -- the human side of Estate Planning -- focuses on ways to maintain family ties to the land from generation to generation, building awareness of key challenges facing family woodland owners and farmers and motivating families to address those challenges. This workshop will provide tips for starting these difficult conversations and explores tools for making these discussions easier and more productive. You will also learn the basic steps of succession planning for landowners, pose questions to an experienced local attorney, meet staff from an area land trust, and talk to a financial planner.
