J. Carol Lincoln has been a volunteer at the United Way of the Southern Tier for twenty six years, both at the Chemung County United way and the United Way of the Southern Tier. She currently volunteers with them two times a month. She started working for the United Way when she was asked and she believed it was a good way to give back to the community that she loves. Although she enjoys volunteering, she said she has a challenge of finding enough time to make sure the job is done well. She feels that volunteering is so important because so many nonprofits could not function if not for the help from their volunteers. She said that the skills the volunteers have bring new assets that the nonprofit can use that they may not have elsewhere.
Carol is originally from Horseheads New York. When she is not volunteering with United Way she is also volunteering at several other places, or enjoying time on her iPad.
