Elmira, N.Y. – AIM will host a Community Partners in Special Education Information Night for students, parents, and professionals. Representation from area school districts, grades K-12, will be on hand to discuss support for students and families through partnerships and collaborations with community service agencies with a specific focus on special education.
Information on what is transition for special education and when does it begin, individualized education plans and understanding a child's special needs, where to go to get services outside of school for your child, and where to find direct supports and services in your community among other related special education needs will be addressed.
The Community Partners in Special Education Information Night will take place Wednesday, May 16, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the Steele Memorial Library's Community Conference Room located at 101 East Church Street in Elmira.
