posted 6/25/2012

Steuben County’s nonprofits need your time and talent!

• Tutors needed for adult literacy. 36 hour training program is being offered in July and a one-year commitment to tutor must be made upon completion of training.

• Volunteers needed to provide financial counseling with Cornell Cooperative Extension. Help community members with budgets, credit ratings, and identity theft. Full training provided.

• Guthrie Clinic in Corning is in need of volunteers to assist patients to physicians’ offices within the building and to sort and deliver mail.

• Health Ministry of the Southern Tier needs a front office receptionist to greet patients and up-date patient files. Must have strong interpersonal skills and good organizational and computer skills. Training will be provided.

If you are 55 years of age or older and you are interested in these or any other volunteer opportunities, call Nan at (607) 936-4662 to learn more about the benefits of being an RSVP Volunteer.
