Friends' Summer Concert Series: "Journey West"

As part of Chemung County Library District’s Friends’ Summer Concert Series, Max Bukholtz and Nikolai Ruskin will perform “Journey West” on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at 7pm in the Elmira Promenade outside the Steele Library.

"Journey West" is a presentation of musical parallels between Eastern Europe and the Middle East, featuring Max Bukholtz on Violin and Nikolai Ruskin on Oud (Turkish lute), Ney (Turkish Flute), and several Turkish percussion instruments. Max began playing the violin at the age of 3 and has played on tour throughout Europe. Nickolai is a composer and is known for his skill on a variety of Middle Eastern instruments. His passion for visual art and storytelling carry into his musical aesthetic, crafting his own unique style drawn from many different influences.
