Community Conversations: United Way of the Southern Tier is Turning Outward

posted 7/30/2012

United Way of the Southern Tier has embarked on an exciting new journey and needs your help!

Through a new partnership with the Harwood Institute for Public Innovation (theharwoodinstitute.org), UWST is “Turning Outward.”  United Way staff and volunteers are leading group conversations with people from all walks of life to gain a deeper understanding of what citizens’ aspirations are for our community. What is learned in these conversations will help to shape United Way’s strategic direction and ultimately make United Way a more relevant and effective agent of change.

We invite you to become a part of this process by hosting a community conversation. If you meet regularly with a group of friends, clients, or people with common interests (such as a book club, art class, sports team, etc.), please consider inviting us to one of your get-togethers.  We will take it from there!

This handout will explain more about recruiting conversation participants. If you have questions about “Turning Outward” or community conversations, please call Barbara Hubbell at 936-3753, ext. 206.
