Chemung County Offers School Immunizations

The Chemung County Health Department announced today they will once again be offering appointments for school immunizations in addition to their regularly scheduled clinics. The Health Department offers free immunization clinics:

  • 1st Tuesday of every month from 1 pm - 3:30 pm
  • 3rd Tuesday of every month from 1 pm - 3:30 pm
  • 4th Tuesday of every month from 5:30 pm - 8 pm

All clinics are held at the Chemung County Health Center located at 103 Washington Street in Elmira. No appointments are necessary for the above listed clinics. Parents are asked to bring previous vaccination records if available.

In addition to the regularly scheduled clinics, the Health Department will offer immunizations by appointment for required vaccinations for school children only. To schedule an appointment call the Health Department at (607) 737-2028. All appointments will be made Monday through Friday, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm only. No evening or weekend appointments will be scheduled.

The Health Department will provide the Meningococcal vaccine for college students who are 18 years of age or younger at no charge. Students older than 18 years of age can make an appointment to receive the Meningococcal vaccine for a fee of $100.00. The Health Department can also provide Varicella (chickenpox) vaccine to students 19 years of age and older for $85.00.
