THE ARTS COUNCIL ANNOUNCES ARTS GRANTS
FOR ARTISTS AND NONPROFITS

ATTENDANCE AT ONE APPLICATION SEMINAR IS MANDATORY FOR ALL APPLICANTS

The ARTS Council of the Southern Finger Lakes announces the launch of its 2013 Decentralization (DEC) regrant program.

This year The ARTS Council will offer three types of Decentralization grants:

Community Arts Grants provide support for the activities of arts groups and community organizations in service to community residents. The deadline for application is Friday, October 5, 2012, delivery or postmark by 5 pm. Grants range from $500 - $5,000.

*    Arts Education Grants support the role that local cultural organizations and/or individual artists play in engaging K-12 public school students in rich, artistic learning experiences.
The Arts Education category of this grant will replace the former Local Capacity Building (LCB) regrant program.  Schools will no longer be eligible to apply for this grant, and must collaborate with local artists and/or organizations as the primary applicant. The deadline for application is Friday, October 5, 2012, delivery or postmark by 5 pm. Grants range from $500 - $5,000.

*    Artist-->Crossroads (Decentralization Tier) supports local artists for the creation of new/unique work that engages the community, occurring in public non-arts venues. The deadline for application is Friday, October 5, 2012, delivery or postmark by 5 pm. Four grants are available for $2,500 each.

ALL programs fund arts and cultural related activities taking place between January 1-December 31, 2013.  Applications and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) documents  are available for artists and nonprofit organizations in Chemung, Schuyler, Steuben and Tioga counties.  Visit
www.eARTS.org to download applications and FAQs or email grants@eARTS.org for more information.
