Callicoon-Dr. Paul Frame, a physician formally of the Cohocton office of Tri-County Family Medicine Program, Inc has recently been awarded the "Dr. Gary Ogden Rural Health Practititioner of the Year Award" by the New York State Association for Rural Health (NYSARH).
"What can I say? Thanks. This is a real honor." Frame said in an e-mail when informed of the award.
The award is given each year to a direct health service provider who has demonstrated leadership, provided outstanding care, and been involved with the rural community. The award was renamed in honoro of Dr. Gary Ogden, a practitioner in western NY who pased away in January 2007.
In the nomination form submitted, the Steuben Rural Health Network noted that Frame had been the physician in the Cohocton office of Tri County Family Medicine Program, Inc, providing primary care to rural patients for the past 35 years. He served on committees for preventitve medicine and research through the U.S. Preventitive Services Task Force through the Department of Health and Human Services Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion and as its senior advisor from 1986-1989. During his career, Frame also published articles on periodic health screenings, as well as health screening in rural private practices. Frame retired from primary care at Tri-County Family Medicine in June 2009.
The award was presented at NYSARH's ninth annual conference held Sept. 13 and 14 in Callicoon.
