Reports to:

Executive Director of the Institute for Human Services, Inc. 

 

Position:

Full-time, 37.5 hours/week

 

Stipend:

$8.00 - $9.00/hour

 

Summary of Duties:

This is a full-time, 200 – 300 hour paid internship at the Institute for Human Services, Inc., (IHS) a nonprofit capacity building organization, located in Bath, NY.  The Intern will be responsible for organizing and reviewing financial policies; collecting data; and data management for programs and services underneath the Institute for Human Services.  The intern will be expected to focus on projects that may pertain to nonprofit administration, finances, accounting, human resources, and other accompanying functions. 

 

Major Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities:

Completefinancial policy organization and management

Provide support on projects as needed, i.e. research, writing, filing, copying, etc.

Participate in onsite consulting support

Operate with integrity and follows all assigned task through to completion

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

The position requires strong interpersonal skills and positive attitude, as well as the ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team, follow specific protocols and procedures, problem-solve, plan and organize work, handle multiple tasks, pay attention to details and work independently.  Strong analytical skills communication skills required.

 

The successful applicant must be able to demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office products and internet navigation.

 

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree pending; preferred in business or related field. 

 

Special Requirements:

 

Work Schedule:  8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday, beginning mid to late May 2011.
