United Way of the Southern Tier’s annual Day of Caring will be held Friday, June 17. This event is an opportunity for volunteers from local businesses to complete projects at non-profit agencies across Chemung and Steuben counties.
Volunteer teams have until May 31 to register for one of the 38 projects available. Registration this year will be completed entirely online through 2-1-1 HELPLINE’S Give Help site. Teams should designate one member as the leader; this person will register all team members and receive all communications about the event.
To register:
· Click on the Give Help tab at 211helpline.org
· Under Events, click on Learn More about Day of Caring.
· Browse the projects available. Each project summary includes the host agency, a description of the work, the number of volunteers needed, time commitment (full or partial day) and the number of volunteer slots still available for registration.
· When you have chosen a project, click on Register. The registration page includes spaces for each team member’s name and contact information, t-shirt sizes and a team photo release waiver.
Volunteer team leaders will receive an automated e-mail when their registration has been approved.
