Cities Rise Community Clean-up Day

The City of Elmira and Chemung County Habitat for Humanity are partnering with Cities for  Responsible Investment and Strategic Enforcement (Cities RISE), a neighborhood revitalization program launched by the  NYS Attorney General’s Office to help rebuild New York communities.

A Community Clean-up Day will be held on Saturday, Aug. 10, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Elmira.

Volunteers will gather in he neighborhood of  West 4th, West 5th, and Clinton Streets between Davis and Columbia Streets. At least 100 volunteers are needed to help with landscaping, trash pick-up and minor painting.

Volunteers will receive a free t-shirt and lunch. 

Local nonprofit agencies will be on hand with information about their services. Bring the family, as other activities planned. S
