Estate Planning for Singles

Did you know that 42% of all Americans over 18 years of age are single? Cornell Cooperative Extension of Steuben County is hosting a fun workshop on Monday, Sept. 16, at 6 p.m. at Carey's Brew house, 58 Bridge Street, Corning, to explain Estate Planning for Singles. This event will help kick off National Singles Week which is Sept. 15-21, 2019.

Why do singles need estate planning? The main reason is that if you don't have estate documents in order, the court will make your decisions for you! This workshop will help you take control of your personal and medical decisions.

Patrick J. Roth, Esq. CPA, will talk about:

  • Naming a beneficiary,
  • who will manage your financial affairs,
  • who will handle your health care decisions, and
  • about how estate planning is never one and done.

Appetizers and non-alcoholic drinks will be provided. The class is free, but registration is required by September 10. Call 607-664-2300 to reserve your space! For more information, visit
