Celebrate the Community Foundation's 45th Anniversary!
The Corning Community Foundation was established in 1972 shortly after Hurricane Agnes hit the Southern Tier. A little over ten years later, the Chemung County Area Community Foundation was born. The two organizations officially merged later in 1993 establishing the Community Foundation of Elmira-Corning and the Finger Lakes.
Currently, the Foundation holds $45 million in assets granting annual awards totaling $1.5 million - a majority of which remains here in the Southern Finger Lakes region promoting solutions that address our community’s greatest needs and serve the common good.
