Family Service Society Professional Training Institute
April 16, 2018  6:00pm-7:30pm

We wanted to let you know about an upcoming free community presentation Family Service Society, Inc. is holding at the Corning Painted Post High School Auditorium on Monday, April 16th, from 6:00pm-7:30pm. It's called "Preventing Youth Substance Use: What Can We Do To Stop Running Scared?"  The presenter, Dr. Daniel Jacobs, is a national consultant and trainer for agencies and schools.  He will be speaking  to the public about strategies that have been shown to be effective in addressing youth substance use in order to prevent children today from becoming a part of the opioid epidemic tomorrow.  The event is free, and we are hoping to get the word out to as many as possible.  We will also offer 1.5  free CEUs for CASACS, LMSWs, LCSWs, LMHCs, LMFTs, and LCATs. You do not need to pre-register for this evening presentation. If you would like to earn continuing education credits for this presentation, please visit the CE table in the high school lobby when you arrive.

Several agencies will have exhibitor tables at this event. So please plan on arriving a few minutes early, or staying a few minutes after to visit our exhibitors. They include: AIM's Family Support Navigator Program, Family Services of Chemung County, Southeast Steuben County Library, Steuben County Alcohol and Substance Abuse Services, Pro Action, Care Compass, Glove House, Five Rivers Council/BSA, Steuben Prevention Coalition, and Family Service Society, Inc..
