With over 2,500 human service offerings in this region, it can be difficult to stay up-to-date with new programs and services. 2-1-1 HELPLINE Live gives you an in-depth understanding of the programs offered by other agencies that could, or do, impact your clients. The three featured organizations will dive into a conversation about all of the programs they offer. Connect, learn, and share with nonprofit professionals in the Southern Tier at 2-1-1 HELPLINE Live!

Southern Tier Nonprofit Executive Directors Group (STNED)

The Southern Tier Nonprofit Executive Directors Group (STNED) is a network of nonprofit executive and management professionals that provides education, peer support, and the sharing of ideas to strengthen leadership and promote the collaborative utilization of resources.

Meeting three to four times a year, STNED provides a space for nonprofit leadership (executive staff and senior leadership) to communicate and collaborate on meaningful issues relevant to the success of the local nonprofit industry and their individual organizations. Ask questions, meet with peers, overcome challenges, and plan for a successful future.

Communication Skills: Basics of Listening

Communication is about connection. This module demonstrates the communication process and highlights the potential areas for communication disconnects. Communication is enhanced when the type of connection is relevant, appropriate and consistent.

It provides an approach to improve the understanding of what the other person is saying and demonstrates to the other person that they are being listened to. Successful techniques are shared, with demos and practices, to allow understanding of the methodology.
