   Purpose, Priority, and Process

Please join Executive Directors, Senior Management, and Agency Development Staff at the Southern Tier Nonprofit Executive Directors Group (STNED) 2010 3rd quarter meeting. This session will feature a panel discussion on how different types of foundations operate at both the local and national level. The four panelists will offer valuable input on how various foundations process and prioritize grant requests.

Liz Wilder, Director of Grantmakers Forum of
New York

Grantmakers Forum is the source for networking, news, and information about grantmaking and organized philanthropy in Upstate New York.
 

Christine Sproule, Director of TheTriangle Fund

The Triangle Fund is a private family foundation that supports efforts to make a difference in the lives of young people. Since 1994, the fund has given grant awards to not-for-profit agencies in the Chemung, Schuyler and Steuben Counties of New York State.

The Community Foundation of Elmira-Corning and the Finger Lakes helps realize potential in our community by matching the generosity of our donors with the community's greatest needs. Grants and scholarships support the people of Chemung, Schuyler, Steuben and Yates counties in the Southern Tier of New York State.
 

Karen Martin, Associate Director of Corning Incorporated Foundation

Over the years, the Corning Incorporated Foundation has contributed more than $108 million through its programs of giving. Resources are directed almost exclusively toward initiatives which improve the quality of life in and near communities where Corning Incorporated is an active corporate citizen. Currently, the Foundation annually fulfills approximately 136 grants totaling some $3.0 million.

The Southern Tier Nonprofit Directors Group (STNED) is a network of nonprofit executive and management professionals in the Southern Tier/Finger Lakes Region of New York State that provides education, peer support and the sharing of ideas to strengthen leadership and promote the collaborative utilization of resources.


The Southern Tier Nonprofit Executive Directors group (STNED) was established for the purpose of providing education, peer support and the sharing of ideas for nonprofit executive and management professionals in the Southern Tier/Finger Lakes Region of New York State.  STNED is a member of New York Nonprofit Executive Directors Network (http://nyned.blogspot.com)    And despite our name, STNED is not limited to current Executive Directors, but is also open to all supervisory and management staff interested in professional development and networking opportunities.
