On Tuesday, March 12, 2019, Maureen O’Brien, President and CEO of New York State Industries for the Disabled, Inc. (NYSID) presented representatives of The Arc of Steuben with an award for a $16,000 matching grant to purchase new equipment.

The Chemung Peer Network is a partnership aimed at bringing Peer Support experiences to people in Chemung County. The Network of six Agencies will be hiring 12 full-time Peer Professionals. 

A key contributor to the film Resilience: The Biology of Stress and the Science of Hope is coming to our area. 

The First Step Victim Services Department of Catholic Charities of Chemung and Schuyler Counties and Community Arts of Elmira have partnered to present First Step, an art exhibition designed to raise awareness of domestic violence through expressive art. Through the exhibit, artists will explore what non-physical violence might look like if it were physical violence.

Catholic Charities is asking for your help in educating the community on human trafficking and how that impacts our neighborhoods. 

As a lifelong resident of the Corning area, it has been my distinct honor to serve as Board of Directors Chairperson for the Steuben County Catholic Charities organization.  In short, our mission is to serve all in need in Steuben County as well as providing services in Allegany and Yates Counties.
