February 2012 Volunteer Spotlight: Mike McDonald

Mike McDonald is this month’s Volunteer in the Spotlight.  As a Corning native, he has been volunteering at Catholic Charities, Council on Addictions, Turning Point, ARC of Steuben, United Way, and IHS for the past ten years.  As a volunteer he has had many responsibilities such as acting as a board member, assisting with process and activity management, mentoring action teams, and acting as a team member.

Mike decided to start volunteering with these agencies because he knew that they needed to help and he wanted to get involved.  He also feels that it is very rewarding to see people and teams improve upon what they are doing.

Mike says that when he is not volunteering he enjoys spending time with his friends and family.
