The Chemung County Department of Aging and Long Term Care is sponsoring this hearing to bring together local agencies, organizations and individuals interested in learning more about the Legal Aspects of Aging including legal rights, protections and consumer fraud preventions.

Our key-note speaker, Art Mason, is a leading advocate in elder rights and protections. He will dis-cuss one of the most prevalent problems facing America’s senior citizen population today-elder abuse. Mr. Mason will provide an overview of the recommendations of the Elder Justice Coalition and will discuss elder abuse, neglect and exploitation. His presentation will include information on how to prevent elder abuse and legal remedies to pursue when abuse does occur.

The hearing will include presentations by three distinguished panelist who will discuss a variety of topics related to the legal rights, protection and prevention:
