Volunteer in the Spotlight: Kay Kenion

posted 4/17/2012

Kay Kenion has been volunteering with the Institute for Human Services where she has been driving people everyday for the past 2 years.  She started volunteering there because she wanted something to do after retiring and she couldn’t just sit still anymore.   When she mentioned that she loved driving and working with people, she was selected to be a driver and has been enjoying it ever since!

Kay says that her favorite part of volunteering is the people.  She enjoys helping people and providing with something that they might not be able to get elsewhere, a ride to an important appointment or treatment session.  She absolutely loves IHS and the women she gets to work with everyday.  She said that the hardest part about volunteering for her is the waiting outside while the person she is driving goes inside for their appointment.

Kay currently lives in Painted Post where she enjoys keeping up with her house and spending time with her husband and dog when she is not volunteering.
