The Steuben Rural Health Network, a program of the Institute for Human Services, will be featuring “Fitness in the Parks” this summer in Corning. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to bring their children on Friday afternoons for an hour of games and fun in the sun. Two health educators from the Steuben Rural Health Network will provide free physical activities to children aged 2-12. This program will last for 6 weeks. Sessions will take place each Friday between July 6 and August 10 from 3:30-4:30pm, at Riverview Park (behind Centerway Square on Market Street).
Fitness in the Parks is a program created by the Steuben Rural Health Network to encourage active, outdoor play to keep children healthy and happy during the summer months when they have a break from school. Steuben Rural Health Network staff will show children in attendance how to stay physically active while having a blast! The event is free to all children; however we do ask that all caregivers remain at the park in case of emergencies. Note that sunscreen will not be provided, so please come prepared for an hour in the sun. In the event of rain, please call the number below to see if the session will still be taking place.
