Job Opening: Information Technology Specialist II - Programming

SUBJECT: One (1) Full-time Vacant Position

ASSIGNMENT: Chemung County Information Technology

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: The work involves responsibility for planning and organizing the analysis of a variety of financial and statistical data for adaptation and processing for an electronic computer at a data center. The work includes the study of problems, systems analysis, flow of information and adaptation and acceptable output of information from the computer. The work also includes web site design and maintenance. Assignments are received in the form of general instructions and are performed with considerable independence. Work is performed under general supervision of the Deputy Director of Information Technology with leeway allowed in planning and implementing specific solutions to information technology issues. May provide supervision and/or technical assistance to Information Technology Specialists of a lower level. Does related work as required.

RESPONSIBLE TO: Deputy Director of Information Services

SCHEDULE: 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday

GRADE: CSEA Schedule B, Grade 12 (18.77/ hour Entry)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A) Graduation from a regionally accredited four (4) year college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Electronic Data Processing or Computer Science and 6 months experience in programming; OR
B) Graduation from a regionally accredited two (2) year college or university with an Associate's Degree in Electronic Data Processing or Computer Science and 2 1/2 years experience in programming; OR
C) Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma and 4 1/2 years experience in Electronic Data Processing or Computer Science with 2 1/2 years experience in Computer Programming; OR
D) A satisfactory equivalent combination of training and experience.
