The Chemung County Youth Bureau is currently accepting nominations for the Daniel J. Donahoe Award and the Program Excellence Award.
The Daniel J. Donahoe Award is given annually to an adult to recognize and honor outstanding contributions made to youth and families of the community. The award was established in 1984 and is named in honor of its first recipient, the Honorable Judge Daniel J. Donahoe. Nominees should be individuals who act beyond the ordinary requirements of their profession or daily routine. Any adult who is or has been involved in service to youth and families and who has contributed to the quality of life in Chemung County in unique, creative and dedicated ways. Members of the Chemung County Youth Board are not eligible for nomination while serving on the board.
The Program Excellence Award, established in 1987, recognizes the special efforts of local youth service projects, programs, or events conducted by community agencies, schools or faith based organizations serving youth in Chemung County. Agencies do not qualify for nomination; only programs and events will be considered. Nominated activities must be youth oriented and should be in existence for a minimum of 1 year before being nominated.
All nominations are due by 4:00 pm, Friday, March 5, 2010. Faxed nominations will not be accepted. Click here for a copy of the nomination form.

All nominees for Program Excellence Award and the Recipient of the Daniel J. Donahoe Award will be recognized at the 27th Annual Daniel J. Donahoe Youth Award Banquet held Monday, May 17, 2010.
