Head Start Announces:
Tentative Program Re-Opening Dates & Services Expansion
At this time the Head Start program has been providing remote services and meal delivery to enrolled families. We are tentatively re-opening our Early Head Start centers for infants and toddlers on Monday, August 3, 2020. Home-Based services will also resume on August 3rd. We are tentatively planning to have our center doors open for Head Start students on Tuesday, September 1, 2020. While things will look different when children return to the classrooms as we take extra precautions to keep the children safe from COVID-19, they will continue to be in a loving, nurturing environment while in our care.
While we prepare to tentatively re-open we also have some additional great news with some changes to services coming to the 2020-2021 program year:
- We are expanding Early Head Start services to toddlers in Friendship by opening a new toddler classroom!
- We have also expanded program hours to Head Start students in Cuba and Bolivar to now receive services 5 days a week!
We currently have enrollment opportunities available program wide for children ages birth to five. Center-Based services are available in Belfast, Bolivar, Cuba, Friendship, and Wellsville. Home-Based services are also available where the teacher is able to come to the family’s home. Families are able to start their application online by visiting the ACCORD website (www.accordcorp.org). All applications at this time are being completed over the phone and through email.
