LaFrance Apartments, a brand new affordable housing apartment complex is taking applications for one bedroom apartments.
LaFrance Apartments, a brand new affordable housing apartment complex on the corner of Powell and LaFrance Streets (across from the Human Resource Center), is taking applications for one bedroom apartments. Income limits for residents are $25,800 for one person and $29,450 for two people. Apply now since a lottery of applications will be held on July 15th to prioritize selection of qualified applicants for affordable housing.
All apartments have energy star rated refrigerators, ranges and dishwashers. The building has an elevator and is intercom access only. Heat, electric and hot water are included in the rent. There are on-site laundry facilities. Four units are fully accessible for persons who have mobility impairment and two units are adapted for persons who have a hearing or vision impairment.
The application (see pages 11-13 of the attached document) may be returned to McNiff Commons (401 Powell Street, Elmira NY 14904) across the street from the LaFrance Apartments. Protections for individuals experiencing domestic violence are on pages 5-10. Twenty apartments are designated as permanent supported housing units; eligible occupants for these units will be referred to the LaFrance Apartments by Catholic Charities of Chemung/Schuyler according to state guidelines.
