The Arc of Steuben Names Greg Dowdle and Dan Nichols as November Associate of the Month
BATH | Greg Dowdle, Direct Support Professional (DSP), and Dan Nichols, Transportation Manager, were named Associate of the Month for November. The Associate of the Month is nominated for their efforts during the last several months. Dowdle was nominated by Bona Elliott and Nichols was nominated by Gladys Palmer.
Dowdle has worked for the agency just over a year and has been very dedicated to his role as a DSP. Dowdle picks up extra shifts on overnights and in the last few weeks he has come in on his scheduled days off to help during an open evening shift. Dowdle displays creative inspiring quotes on the dry erase board every day to help lift the spirits of others during difficult times. “The people we support have acknowledged the quotes and has expressed that it often helps them when they are having a bad day and they look forward to seeing what is written each day” said Elliott.
Nichols has worked nonstop since the start of the pandemic back in March; he has not taken a vacation. He is willing and able to help where he is needed. He has learned how to do the billing for our department, and all reports to the State. He even took on the role as the scheduler for the garage. He has maintained all agency vehicles and busses; making sure that they pass inspection. When we started back up in August, he made sure that all vehicles were ready to go. “We couldn’t have gotten through this without him,” said Palmer.
Dowdle and Nichols are both dedicated and hardworking associates and are deserving of the Associate of the Month Award. Congratulations!
