The Dormann Library is celebrating all things Earth Day and Arbor Day for the end of the month of April. We have activities planned for the whole family. All programs are available at no charge. Don’t forget to check Facebook on Fridays for our latest Discovery Kids video by Miss Kathleen.

Need to multi-task with young kids? Take a walk around the Dormann Library grounds and read a story at the same time! From Monday, April 19 through Friday, April 30, we will be featuring a Story Walk of the book: “Hare and the Tortoise” by Allison Murray. Take a stroll and have a family read.

In celebration of National Poetry Month, we invite you to stop in during the week of April 19 through April 23. Every day from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., you can create a poem button to wear using recycled materials. We ask that folks limit themselves to 3 buttons per day, per person. In case, you need to wait for your turn at the button making machine, there will be supplies available to create your own “blackout” poem using old book pages.

We are partnering with the DEC to give away 50 white spruce trees for Arbor Day! Contact the library to sign up and reserve a tree. Call the library at 607-776-4613 to get your name on the list – while supplies last. One per family please. We hope to have them available on Wednesday, April 21st. Please check our Facebook page to confirm that they have arrived.
