Dormann Library to Host Safari Adventure
While the Dormann Library will be closed on the following dates: Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day, we have some fun activities planned for our youthful patrons over the rest of their Winter Recess break from school. Starting on Monday, Dec. 23, we will be offering safari-themed activities for kids.
Kids can get a free explorer hat (while they last) to wear while doing activities, including a scavenger hunt and craft, in the kids’ section of the library. On Thursday, Dec.26, the whole family can play Bingo from 3 to 4 p.m. We will include some rounds of picture Bingo for our younger participants. Did we mention that all the prizes are books? We will end the week watching the PG-13 rated movie: Jumanji – Welcome to the Jungle starting at 1 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 27. Light refreshments will be served during the movie matinee.
The following week, we have a craft planned on Thursday, Jan. 2, starting at 3 p.m. We will be making felt gorillas and they can be sewn or glued depending on the age of the child. All the materials will be provided to make the felt animal. Another movie matinee is scheduled for Friday, Jan. 3 at 1 p.m. This time we will be watching the live action, PG rated Jungle Book. The safari will come to a close on Saturday, January 4.
The Dormann Library wishes everyone a safe and happy holiday season filled with good books to read and we look forward to seeing you in the New Year!
