Livingston County Department of Health has a part-time Outreach Worker vacancy. This responsible and rewarding position is in the WIC (Women, Infant and Children) Program.
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: This work requires the performance of para-professional outreach work in disseminating information in public health programs. The work is performed within the general guidelines prescribed by supervisors with a great deal of leeway permitted in contacting and arranging for group presentations in the subject matter. Work is performed in the office and in the field. Supervision of others is not a responsibility of this class. The work is performed under the general supervision of a professional employee who is concerned primarily with the accuracy and validity of the educational material and oral presentations. An Outreach Worker does related work as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must meet all requirements described in the following table in order to be approved for examination and/or appointment:

D One year of full-time, paid experience providing services to consumers in need of assistance offered by a government or private charitable organization in the areas

Part-time service will be given prorated credit toward experience requirements.
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
1.) An appropriate driver’s license must be maintained throughout employment. 2.) A driving record evidencing safe and responsible vehicle operation is required.
3.) Must authorize and execute any necessary releases to enable the appointing authority to verify licensure and driving history involving violations and/or crimes.
