Samaritan Center to Host Clothing Giveaway

Catholic Charities’ Samaritan Center will host a clothing giveaway on August 20 from 10am – 4pm. The rain date will be August 21 from 10am – 4pm.

Individuals are encouraged to come to get what they need for their families. They should bring their own bags, wear their masks, and practice social distancing.

“While our Clothing Closet has been closed to the public since the beginning of the pandemic, we wanted to offer a time when people could come get clothes for themselves and their family members,” stated Suzi Fritz, Director of Emergency Services. “We hope community members are able to find items that they can use.”

The Clothing Closet at the Samaritan Center will continue to be closed. It remains to be seen if the Clothing Closet will be able to open again or not in the future. Clothing donations will not be accepted until further notice. For everyone’s safety, dropping off donations of used items, or leaving donations on the sidewalks adjacent to the property, in doorways, or in the parking lot is prohibited.

Any businesses looking to make donations of new items (clothing, linens, pillows, etc.) should contact Catholic Charities’ Development and Marketing Coordinator, Katie Rhodes for more information. She can be reached at Katie.Rhodes@dor.org or 607-734-9784, ext. 2133.
