COVID VACCINES AVAILABLE IN COHOCTON

COHOCTON, NY – The Steuben County Public Health Department will offer all COVID vaccines at the Cohocton Assembly of God Church located at 31 North Dansville Street, Cohocton on Wednesday, October 27 from 10 AM to 2 PM.

First doses of Johnson & Johnson and first and second doses of Moderna and Pfizer will be offered along with third doses of Moderna and Pfizer for those who are moderately or severely immunocompromised and booster shots of Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson.  Booster shots are only available for those aged 18 and older.  Anyone who received Johnson & Johnson initially can get a booster starting two months after their first dose.  Pfizer and Moderna boosters are authorized for certain groups starting six months after receiving the second dose.

“We are excited to bring all of the vaccine options to a new area of Steuben County through partnership with General Electric and the Assembly of God Church,” said Public Health Director, Darlene Smith. “As we head into the holiday season, there’s no better time to have the family protected.”

Participants are strongly encouraged to register for their vaccine appointment at www.steubencony.org/covid.  Walk ins will be accepted but may experience a wait time based on clinic capacity.  All vaccines are completely free to participants, and free transportation to clinics is also available through 211.

All clinic attendees must wear appropriate face coverings and are expected to wait 15-30 minutes after vaccination for observation.  Attendees should wear short sleeves or appropriate clothing for vaccination and bring their vaccine card if applicable.

Those currently under isolation or quarantine at the time of the clinic due to a positive COVID-19 test result or as a contact to a positive are not eligible to attend the clinic.
