VACCINES AVAILABLE AT STEUBEN COUNTY PUBLIC HEALTH CLINICS
BATH, NY – The Steuben County Public Health Department continues to offer COVID vaccines every Friday at the Civil Defense Training Center from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, located at 7220 State Route 54 in Bath.
Although the FDA has authorized various booster shots, Steuben Public Health must await guidance on administration of the additional boosters from CDC and the New York State Department of Health before being able to offer Johnson & Johnson and Moderna boosters or offering any mix and match strategies.
“We expect to be able to offer every available vaccine in the coming weeks, but will not be able to offer additional boosters at this Friday’s clinic,” said Public Health Director, Darlene Smith. “There is a process and further guidance that we must have in place before immediately being able to administer what the FDA authorizes. We know some residents are eager to get their boosters and appreciate their patience in making sure our clinics operate safely and to the highest standards.”
First doses of Johnson & Johnson and first and second doses of Moderna and Pfizer are available each week at Steuben’s clinic. Third doses of Moderna and Pfizer for those who are moderately or severely immunocompromised and booster shots of Pfizer are also available.
Participants can register for their vaccine appointment at www.steubencony.org/covid, call Steuben Public Health at 607-664-2438 or walk in during clinic hours. All vaccines are completely free to participants, and free transportation to clinics is also available through 211.
All clinic attendees must wear appropriate face coverings and are expected to wait 15-30 minutes after vaccination for observation. Attendees should wear short sleeves or appropriate clothing for vaccination and bring their vaccine card if applicable.
Those currently under isolation or quarantine at the time of the clinic due to a positive COVID-19 test result or as a contact to a positive are not eligible to attend the clinic.
