January 2020 Volunteer Opportunities

Hornell Area

Volunteering can be your New Year’s Resolution

  • Steuben County Public Health needs assistance with pet vaccination clinics in the Hornell area. The volunteer will register clients and help complete paperwork.  Volunteers are needed twice a year (March and October) on a Saturday morning.

  • Enable a senior to stay independent and at home by providing transportation for medical appointments and grocery shopping. Volunteer opportunities are available through Project Care, Faith in Action, and the Institute for Human Services.  Client rides will be requested through the agency and volunteers will be contacted with requests that fit their availability and geographic preference.  Mileage reimbursement available.

  • You can make a difference delivering meals to seniors at home. A friendly check-in with a caring driver provides an important link to additional services that may be needed.  Volunteer opportunities available through ProAction Home Delivered Meals Program.  You can deliver 1 to 5 days or be a substitute driver.  Mileage reimbursement available.

Corning Area

  • Rockwell Museum has a wide range of volunteer opportunities. Volunteers serve as docents, others assist with family programs, while others help behind the scenes to make the many projects and initiatives at the Rockwell possible.  Formal training provided.

Bath Area

  • Pulteney Library is looking for volunteers. They have a beautiful new library and need additional help assisting with checking books in and out, shelving books, and helping patrons find materials.  Come and be part of the team!
