~Summer Walking Tours~

Historic Downtown Tour
Monday, July 26  10:30am*
This popular 50-minute stroll takes place on level sidewalks and is a great introduction to local history and historic events in downtown Elmira. Join us as we share more than 17 stories from CCHS’s weekly blogposts along the way. Good for locals or out of town guests.
Tickets are $3 for members and $8 for nonmembers and include admission to the museum. Tours are first come, first reserved, and space is limited, so we recommend reservations. Call 607-734-4167 or click hereto reserve your spot.
*If you can’t make it on July 26th, this tours is also available on August 9 and 23, 2021.

“If It’s Worth Selling, It’s Worth Seeing”
The Thatcher Glass Manufacturing Company was part of Chemung County’s history for eighty years. This exhibit tells that history and features a wide assortment of glass containers, as well as, blueprints of the bottles, photographs of the Elmira plant and employees, and company advertisements. On display now in the Howell Gallery.
