AIM programs and services available despite closings

While AIM has closed all office locations until further notice due to the COVID-19 public health emergency, it is important to know we are continuing to provide services to the community.

AIM’s internal staff are working remotely, and can be reached by phone or email. Our external staff in our home care and OPWDD programs are still serving their consumers, with appropriate health and safety guidelines in place.

The contacts for our programs and our management are listed on our website, aimcil.com, under Programs/Services or Management/Board, respectively.

To reach us by phone, call us at (607) 962-8225 or toll-free at (888) 962-8244. Enter the extension of the staff member you are trying to reach, or use the dial-by-name directory. Please note, it is very important to leave a voicemail, as staff immediately receive an email notification when a voicemail is left, and will return your call as soon as they can.

Email is also a great way to reach us, and email contacts are also listed at aimcil.com.

Those seeking services but unsure of whom to contact should reach out to General Advocate Ryanne Michaels at rmichaels@aimcil.com or ext. 215. She can provide information and referrals regarding all of AIM’s programs and services, as well as other resources available in the community.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

AIM hiring for home care aides to serve people with disabilities, seniors

AIM is now recruiting home care aides to help people with disabilities and seniors with a wide array of tasks, from housekeeping to giving medications.

AIM’s Consumer-Directed Personal Assistance Program allows seniors and people with disabilities to choose their home care aides and decide what they need help with.

We’re building a large pool of candidates to pair with our consumers as needed and ensure they receive the care they need, so we’ve streamlined our onboarding process. Hires earn competitive pay, and a benefit package is provided to those who work 30 hours per week or more.In some instances, you may be able to work for a relative, friend or neighbor.

To apply, visit the Careers page on our website.

If you have questions or need assistance, contact AIM Human Resources Director Brooke Bennett at bbennett@aimcil.com or (607) 962-8225 or (888) 962-8244, ext. 120.

AIM has strict hygiene protocols in place to protect both consumers and home care aides and prevent the spread of coronavirus.

NY State of Health opens enrollment; AIM navigators providing free assistance

NY State of Health, the state’s health insurance marketplace, is offering a special enrollment period through April 15 due to the COVID-19 public health emergency, and AIM’s Navigator Program is providing free local enrollment services by phone.

Call AIM Navigator Program Coordinator Laurette Guild at (888) 962-8244, ext. 118, to schedule a phone appointment with a navigator. Guild can also be reached via email at lguild@aimcil.com.

Navigators can help people who need health insurance enroll themselves and their families in Medicaid, Child Health Plus, the Essential Plan or Qualified Health Plans from a variety of insurers. Eligibility is based on income and household size.

There is no cost sharing for COVID-19 testing in any of these plans, and all plans include comprehensive benefits, so people do not avoid seeking testing or medical care due to cost concerns.
