ProAction Teaching Assistants – Wayland

Pro action is accepting applications for the position of Teaching Assistant in our classroom in Wayland.

Teaching Assistants work 37.5 hours per week, following the school year calendar. The Teaching Assistant position is eligible for our extensive employee benefits which include health, dental and vision insurance, a retirement plan with employer contributions, generous paid time off, sick leave and paid holidays.

Responsibilities: The Teaching Assistant partners with the Certified Teacher in the planning and implementation of daily activities in the Pre-K classroom, adhering to Head Start Performance Standards, NYS Office of Children and Family Services Day Care Regulations and all other applicable program regulations.

Working in a team environment, the Teaching Assistant will participate in weekly planning sessions, attend training and meetings as required, ensure a safe and healthy classroom environment, assist in classroom and program and help with inventory as needed.

Qualifications: The Teaching Assistant position requires a Child Development Associate (CDA) or associate degree – or – must be currently enrolled in a program leading to a CDA or Associates Degree, with experience is a preschool setting.
