ACEs SYMPOSIUM SPEAKERS:

Adam Foss, JD is the former Assistant DA for the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office Juvenile Division in Boston, MA, and currently the Founder & Executive Director for Prosecutor Impact in Boston.

Adam will discuss the complexities of power, privilege, and opportunity through the lens of the criminal justice system. In addition, to highlighting certain disparities and inequities connected to these topics, that can be observed in the context of the criminal justice system and most other essential aspects of society

 

 

Gregory Owens, LMSW is the Deputy Commissioner and Director for the Office of Youth Justice through the NYS Division of Criminal Justice Service in Albany, NY.

Gregory will share his experience in promoting, creating and leading a learning environment where racial and ethnic disparities are problematic, longstanding, and difficult to address. He will share his efforts to develop a framework for leadership, managing challenging conversations about the race disparities, the impact of bias, anxiety and stress that can pose barriers to advancement, and successes achieved overtime.
