Congratulations and good luck to Jamie!
Tanglewood News Dec. 3, 2020
Tomorrow is Jamie’s last day at Tanglewood! (And she’s spending today chiseling vulture vomit out of the indoor aviaries, and proudly tucking in her beautiful little mealworm and dubia roach feeder colonies into new tanks. Just normal work stuff on her second to last day here.) We are wishing Jamie all the best of luck in her new position! Staff, volunteers, camp kids and our critters will all miss Jamie bunches – though she’s promised to come back and volunteer, so we’ll still see her around 🙂
What we’re reading this week:
- The NY DEC has released a draft plan for deer management in the state for the next ten years. Public comment is open until 12/28.
- How to join Climate Watch – contribute to scientific research! This community-science program asks volunteer birders across North America to survey for one of our twelve target species in the same place (or places) twice each year. The next round is January 15th-February 15th.
- Forbes’ 30 Under 30 of science includes some very, very cool and talented people. (Earyn McGee has been a fun one to follow on twitter too.)
We have a new tote available on our Bonfire page – Tanglewood tees, sweatshirts, and now a reusable tote all available for purchase!
Be well and hike often. Share your photos and nature stories with us!
Due to the increasing cases of COVID-19 across our region, the Nature Center is closed to the public. The Nature Center will remain closed until 2021. As always, our trails are open! We hope you enjoy the fresh air and foliage.
