Tanglewood news Oct 16 2019

But first, some sunny news: Catie from Delaware River Solar will be at Haunted Happenings, helping you save money on your bill, raise money for Tanglewood, and saving the planet in the meantime. Bring your NYSEG bill to Haunted Happenings, get a $50 gift card, and learn more – and DRS will donate $50 to Tanglewood!

Upcoming events:

Haunted Happenings. Saturday October 19, 11am-2pm. New this year: make and launch rockets! All your favorites return: hayrides, pumpkins, bake sale, face-painting, and slime! Free admission; tickets for food and some activities available at the door.

Homeschool Drop-in Program: Fall Foliage and Winter Plant Dormancy. Tuesday October 29, 10am-11am. Each program will dive into a different topic, and the curriculum is designed to enrich and expand on STEM standards. This week, we’ll meet the amphibians who depend upon our wetlands as well as some of their food sources (by taking dip nets to the pond) and their predators. Rubber boots or old sneakers recommended. We’ll end the program by taking a water sample back to the nature center to check out under our microscope! $5 for a family if you’re a member of Tanglewood; if you’re not yet a member, $10 for the family. Cash is preferred.

Wild Turkeys & Wild Turkey Trivia. Friday November 15th at 7pm. 21+. Bring your friends and wits; we’re providing whiskey tastes, beer, snacks, and – of course – the questions. Topics include: actual wild fowl facts; whisk(e)ys and distilling; Thanksgiving trivia.
